August 9, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 239 out of 390 passed the Guidance Counselor Licensure Examination given by the Board of Guidance and Counseling in Manila and Cagayan De Oro this August 2016.

The members of the Board of Guidance and Counseling who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Luzviminda S. Guzman, Chairman; Dr. Elena V. Morada and Dr. Carmelita P. Pabiton, Members.
The results were released in three (3) working days from the last day of examination.
From August 15 to August 16, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.
Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag) and 2 sets of documentary stamps.
Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The date and venue of the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

The licensure examinations were administered by PRC Board of Guidance and Counseling headed by its chairman, Dr. Luzviminda S. Guzman, Dr. Elena V. Morada, Officer-In-Charge and Dr. Carmelita P. Pabiton, member on August 3-4, 2016 at PRC testing centers in Manila and Cagayan de Oro (CDO).
RELEASE DATE
According to the Commission’s Resolution No. 2015-948 series of 2015 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2016”, the target release date for the results August 2016 Guidance Counselor board exam will be on August 9, 2016 (Tuesday). However, results may be released earlier or later without prior notice.
On the same exam conducted by PRC on August 201, results were out after two (2) working days.
REGISTRATION DATE and REQUIREMENTS
Aside from the itemized results posted above, these important registration schedule, requirements and fees shall be secured by a successful examinee.
The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be announced by PRC.
Registration requirements: duly accomplished Oath Form, latest/current CTC or cedula, 1 piece of colored passport ID picture with white background and nametag, 2 sets of doc stamps and 1 short envelope with name and profession written.
For Manila board passers, PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for processing of appointment for registration effective March 30, 2016, details of which is written here.
EXAMINATION COVERAGE
The two days board exam for Guidance Counselor covered topics from Counseling Theories, Tools and Techniques (35%); Career Guidance (10%); Foundations of Guidance (Philosophical, Psychological and Sociological) 10%; Group Process (20%); Psychological Testing (15%); Organization, Administration and Supervision of Guidance Services and Program Development (10%).
PREVIOUS EXAMS
During August 2015 Guidance Counselor licensure exam, 252 examinees out of 419 passed. An alumna from Cebu Normal University (Cebu State College) ranked first having 89.45% rating. She was followed by Charlotte Cacho Leigh from Central Philippine University garnering 89.05% and Cathy Tolentino Villaroya from Ateneo de Naga University having 88.60% rating.
