PRC Released the Results of the December 2016/January 2017 Dentist Licensure Examination

January 10, 2017 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 605 out of 1,150 passed the December 2016 Dentist Licensure Examination (Written Phase) and 609 out of 613 passed the Dentist Licensure Examination (Practical Phase) given by the Board of Dentistry in Manila this January 2017.

The members of the Board of Dentistry who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Rannier F. Reyes, Officer-In-Charge; Dr. Gloria M. Bumanlag, Dr. Melinda L. Garcia, Dr. Roberto M. Tajonera and Dr. Maria Jona D. Godoy, Members.

The results were released in two (2) working days after the last day of examination.
From January 17 to January 19, 2017, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag) and 2 sets of documentary stamps. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER

PRC administered the Dentists (Written board exam) on December 1, 2 and 3 in Manila. The members of the Board of Dentistry who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Rannier F. Reyes, Officer-In-Charge; Dr. Gloria M. Bumanlag, Dr. Melinda L. Garcia, Dr. Roberto M. Tajonera and Dr. Maria Jona D. Godoy, Members.

The practical exam is scheduled on January 4, 5, 6 and 7 also in Manila.

Dentist board exam covered the following subjects: general and oral anatomy and physiology, general and oral pathology, general and oral microscopic anatomy and microbiology, restorative dentistry and public health and community dentistry (December 1); prosthethic dentistry, roentgenology, oral diagnosis and oral surgery and anesthesiology and pharmacology (December 2); and pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, dental jurisprudence, ethics and practical management, periodontics and endodontics (December 3).

According to PRC Resolution No. 2016-1019, the target release date of December 2016 and January 2017 Dentist board exam is on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 or in 3 working days after the last day of exam.

In the same period last year, results were released two working days. PRC has named a total of 446 out of 900 passed the December 2015 Dentist Licensure Examination (Written Phase) and 425 out of 449 passed the Dentist Licensure Examination (Practical Phase). Southwestern University graduate Rosette Gaditano Pagpaguitan topped the board with 84.40 percent.
