PRC Released the Results of the October 2016 Interior Designer Licensure Examination

November 10, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 213 out of 419 passed the Interior Designer Licensure Examination given by the Board of Interior Design in Manila last October 2016.

The members of the Board of Interior Design who gave the licensure examination are Sonia Santiago-Olivares, Chairman; Kathryn Milagrosa B. Abaño and Maria Carlota D. Hilvano, Members.
 
The results were released in eight (8) working days after the last day of examination.
From November 15 to November 16, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
 
The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

The October 2016 Interior Designer licensure exams were administered by PRC Board of Interior Design headed by its Chairman, Sonia Santiago-Olivares and its members, Kathryn Milagrosa B. Abaño and Maria Carlota D. Hilvano on October 25-27, 2016 at PRC testing center in Manila.


REGISTRATION DATE and REQUIREMENTS

Aside from the itemized results posted above, these important registration schedule, requirements and fees shall be secured by a successful examinee.
  • The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be announced by PRC. 
  • Registration requirements: duly accomplished Oath Form, latest/current CTC or cedula, 2 pieces of colored passport ID picture with white background and name tag, 2 sets of doc stamps and 1 short envelope with name and profession written. 
For Manila board passers, PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for processing of appointment for registration effective March 30, 2016, details of which are written here.


 RELEASE DATE

According to the Commission’s Resolution No. 2015-948 series of 2015 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2016”, the target release date for the results October 2016 Interior Designer board exam will be on November 8, 2016 (Tuesday). However, results may be released earlier or later without prior notice.

On the same exam conducted by PRC on October 2016, results were out after fifteen (15) working days.

EXAMINATION COVERAGE

The three-days Interior Design board exam covered topics from Furniture Design and Construction, Materials of Design and Decoration, History of Arts and Interior Design, Interior Construction and Utilities, Color Theory and Professional Practice and Ethics.

PREVIOUS EXAMS

Interior Designer is one of the programs with less number of examinees being administered by the Professional Regulation Commission.

On October 2014, 198 out of 331 examinees passed. University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman was the only school in the top performing school list having 32 out of 32 examinees passed or an equivalent 100.00% overall passing rate.

Meanwhile, Martha Dorothy Apuli Panelo from UP Diliman ranked first in the said exam garnering 86.15% rating. She was followed by Lalaine Tibang Nacionales from University of Santo Tomas (UST) having 85.85% and Maria Janlyn Hebres De Leon from Polytechnic University of the Philippines Main - Sta. Mesa having 85.30% rating.
