PRC Released the Results of the October 2016 Electronics Engineer ECE ECT Licensure Examination

October 21, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 1,914 out of 4,742 passed the Electronics Engineer Licensure Examination and 2,722 out of 3,642 passed the Electronics Technician Licensure Examination given by the Board of Electronics Engineering in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao and Lucena this October 2016.

The members of the Board of Electronics Engineering who gave the licensure examinations are Engr. Alnar L. Detalla, Chairman, Engr. Enrico Claro R. Delmoro and Engr. Herminio J. Orbe, Members.
 
The results were released in three (3) working days after the last day of examinations.
From November 7 to November 9, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
 
The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

As announced, four thousand seven hundred fifty five (4,755) examinees took the ECE exams while with three thousand seven hundred seven (3,707) took the Electronics Technician.

The October 2016 ECE and ECT licensure exams were administered by PRC Board of Electronics Engineering headed by its Chairman, Engr. Alnar L. Detalla and its members, Engr. Enrico Claro R. Delmoro and Engr. Herminio J. Orbe on October 15-17, 2016 at PRC testing centers in Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao and Lucena.

 
 
REGISTRATION DATE and REQUIREMENTS

Aside from the itemized results posted above, these important registration schedule, requirements and fees shall be secured by a successful examinee.
  • The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be announced by PRC. 
  • Registration requirements: duly accomplished Oath Form, latest/current CTC or cedula, 1 piece of colored passport ID picture with white background and nametag, 2 sets of doc stamps and 1 short envelope with name and profession written. 
For Manila board passers, PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for processing of appointment for registration effective March 30, 2016, details of which are written here.

RELEASE DATE

According to the Commission’s Resolution No. 2015-948 series of 2015 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2016”, the target release date for the results October 2016 Electronics Engineer ECE and ECT board exams will be on October 20, 2016 (Thursday). However, results may be released earlier or later without prior notice.

On the same exam conducted by PRC on April 2016, results were out after three (3) working days.

EXAMINATION COVERAGE

The two-days Electronics Engineer board exam covered topics from Mathematics, Electronics Engineering, General Engineering and Applied Sciences and Electronics Systems and Technologies while Electronics Technician board exam covered the Technical Subjects, Laws and Ethics (Basic Mathematics, Ohm's Law, Electronic/Electrical Machine or Equipment, Test Equipment, Electronic/ Electrical Component, Maintenance and Repair, Philippine Electrical Code, Philippine Electronic Code and RA No. 9282).


PREVIOUS EXAMS

On April 2016 board exams, 917 out of 2,482 passed the Electronics Engineer Licensure Examination and 985 out of 1,196 passed the Electronics Technician Licensure Examination.

UP Diliman was the only school in the top performing school list for ECE board exam having 19 out of 21 examinees passed or an equivalent 90.48% overall passing rate.

Mapua Institute of Technology Manila ranked first in the ECT board exam having all of its 98 examinees passed, followed by Adamson University having 49 out of 53 examinees passed or 92.45% and Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) Manila having 47 out of 52 examinees passed or 90.38% overall rating.

Paul Esteban Quibuyen from University of the East Manila topped the ECE board exams garnering 89.30% rating, followed by Charleston Dale Macutay Ambatali from University of the Philippines Diliman and Arvie Mae Trinidad Calimlim from Saint Louis University garnering 87.80%.

Meanwhile, Robin Mon Rivas Miranda from Polytechnic University of the Philippines Sta. Mesa ranked first in Electronic Technician board exams garnering 94.00% rating. He was followed by Niel Mikhel Camposano Jamilano from Mapua Institute of Technology Manila having 93.00%.
