PRC Released the Results of the September 2016 Librarian Licensure Examination

September 26, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 738 out of 1,140 passed the Librarian Licensure Examination given by the Board for Librarians in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao and Legazpi this September 2016.

The members of the Board for Librarians who gave the licensure examination are Yolanda C. Granda, Chairman and Lourdes T. David, Member.
 
The results were released in three (3) working days after the last day of examination.
From September 29 to 30, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag) and 2 sets of documentary stamps.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
 
The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremonies of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

The September 2016 Librarian licensure examinations were administered by PRC Board for Librarians headed by its Chairman, Yolanda C. Granda and its members, Lourdes T. David and Agnes F. Manlangit on September 20-21, 2016 at PRC testing centers in Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao and Legazpi.
 
REGISTRATION DATE and REQUIREMENTS

Aside from the itemized results posted above, these important registration schedule, requirements and fees shall be secured by a successful examinee.
  • The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be announced by PRC. 
  • Registration requirements: duly accomplished Oath Form, latest/current CTC or cedula, 1 piece of colored passport ID picture with white background and nametag, 2 sets of doc stamps and 1 short envelope with name and profession written. 
For Manila board passers, PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for processing of appointment for registration effective March 30, 2016, details of which are written here.

 RELEASE DATE

According to the Commission’s Resolution No. 2015-948 series of 2015 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2016”, the target release date for the results September 2016 Librarian board exam will be on September 26, 2016 (Monday). However, results may be released earlier or later without prior notice.

On the same exam conducted by PRC on April 2015, results were out after three (3) working days.

EXAMINATION COVERAGE

The September 2016 Librarian board exam covered topics from Library Organization and Management; Reference, Bibliography and User Services; Indexing and Abstracting; Cataloging and Classification; Selection and Acquisition and Information Technology.

PREVIOUS EXAMS

During April 2015 Librarian board exam, 349 out of 742 examinees successfully passed. University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman was the top performing school having 26 out of 26 examinees passed or an overall passing rate of 100%. UP was followed by University of Santo Tomas (UST) having 29 out of 33 examinees passed or 87.88% passing rate.

Allana Sanglap Delgado from Central Philippine University topped the exams having 89.60% rating. She was followed by Seachel Sagmon Oyao from University of San Carlos garnering 87.85% and Maria Carina Gongora Raymundo from UP Diliman having 86.95%.
