PRC Released the Results of the October 2016 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Examination

October 20, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 5,249 out of 14,390 passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena and Tacloban this October 2016.

The members of the Board of Accountancy who gave the licensure examination are Joel L. Tan-Torres, Chairman; Eliseo A. Aurellado, Gerard B. Sanvictores, Gloria T. Baysa, Concordio S. Quisaot, Samuel B. Padilla and Arlyn S. Villanueva, Members.
From October 26 to November 4, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag) and 2 sets of documentary stamps.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
 
The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

MANILA, Philippines – The October 2016 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) board exam results, together with the list of passers, top 10 examinees, top performing schools and related announcements will be available at this website soon as PRC officially released the results online few working days after the last day of board examination.

The October 2016 CPA licensure exams were administered by PRC Board of Accountancy headed by its Chairman, Mr. Joel L. Tan-Torres and its members, Eliseo A. Aurellado, Gerard B. Sanvictores, Gloria T. Baysa, Concordio S. Quisaot and Samuel B. Padilla on October 1-2 & 8-9, 2016 at PRC testing centers in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena and Tacloban.

REGISTRATION DATE & REQUIREMENTS

Aside from the itemized results posted above, these important registration schedule, requirements and fees shall be secured by a successful examinee.
  • The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be announced by PRC. 
  • Registration requirements: duly accomplished Oath Form, latest/current CTC or cedula, 1 piece of colored passport ID picture with white background and nametag, 2 sets of doc stamps and 1 short envelope with name and profession written. 
For Manila board passers, PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for processing of appointment for registration effective March 30, 2016, details of which are written here.

 RELEASE DATE

According to the Commission’s Resolution No. 2015-948 series of 2015 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2016”, the target release date for the results October 2016 CPA board exams will be on October 19, 2016 (Wednesday). However, results may be released earlier or later without prior notice.

On the same exam conducted by PRC on May 2016, results were out after five (5) working days.

EXAMINATION COVERAGE

The four-days CPA exams covered topics from financial accounting and reporting, practical accounting, auditing theory, theory of accounts, management advisory services, management services, business law and taxation and regulatory framework for business transactions.

PREVIOUS EXAMS

On May 2016 CPA board exam, 2,967 out of 6,925 examinees passed. During May 2015 of the same exam, 2,132 out of 5, 959 passed while 5,468 out of 13,317 on October 2015.

During May 2016 CPA, De La Salle University ranked first in the top performing schools having 54 out of 58 examinees passed or 93.10% overall rating followed by University of Santo Tomas (UST) having 84 out 93 passers or 90.32% and University of San Jose Recoletos having 108 out of 133 board passers or 81.20%.
Karim Gonzales Abitago from Universal Colleges of Paranaque topped the exam garnering 92.17% rating. He was followed by Kimjames Sarapanan Manalo from Cor Jesu College having 91.83% and Jayvee Faust Bugtai Anga from University of San Jose Recoletos having 91.67%.
