Retake of all examination subjects for the late examinees in the October 2015 Board Licensure Examination for Criminologists (BLEC)

Manila, March 18, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission, together with the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology issued Board Resolution No. 7, Series of 2015 examinees who reported late in the October 2015 BLEC to retake all the examination subjects in April 2016 BLEC.

Last October 18, 2015, Metro Manila was placed under typhoon signal no. 2 and the adverse effects of the weather were heavily felt in Regions 1, 2, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and other nearby areas. The BLEC proceeded as scheduled, notwithstanding the inclement weather. Reports, however came in regarding the late arrival of examinees who opted to take the remaining subjects for that day and sought reconsideration from the Board and PRC to be allowed to take the subject that they have missed.
 
With the approval of the said Resolution, the Board resolved that all late examinees in the October 2015 BLEC to retake all the examination subjects in the next schedule of BLEC, subject to the condition that the concerned examinees will still have to file their application for BLEC at no cost on their part.

Hon. Cyd Puertollano Aguilera took Oath as the New Member for Board of Chemical Engineering

Manila, March 18, 2016 – Hon. Cyd Puertollano Aguilera, who was recently appointed as new member for the Board of Chemical Engineering, formally took her oath before the Professional Regulation Commission last Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Her oath was administered by PRC Chairman Teofilo S. Pilando Jr, Commissioner Angeline T. Chua Chiaco and Commissioner Yolanda D. Reyes.
 
Engr. Aguilera is the former Food Safety Associate, Quality Management and Process Excellence Specialist at the San Miguel Purefoods Corporation SMFI Corporate Planning and Management Service Group. She earned his BS Chemical Engineering at University of Santo Tomas, BS Accounting at Far Eastern University and Masters in Business at La Salle Business School and was a recipient of the Philippine Quality Award for Assessors for 5 consecutive years from 2007 up to 2011.

PRC Released the Results of the March 2016 Teachers Licensure Examination (LET)

May 16, 2016 --- PRC and the Board of Professional Teachers (BPT) release official results of March 20, 2016 LET (Licensure Examination for Teachers) or known as Teachers Board Exam in 29-42 working days after the exam. The complete list of passers, top 10 (topnotchers), top performing schools and performance of schools are all available here once announced online.

PRC conducted the LET board exam in at least 20 testing centers nationwide which include NCR (Manila), Baguio City, Cagayan de Oro (CDO) City, Cebu City, Davao City, Laoag City, Legazpi City, Albay, Lucena City, Quezon, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur, Rosales, Pangasinan, Tuguegarao, Masbate City, Antique, Bacolod, Iloilo, Catarman, Jolo, Sulu, Tacloban, Tawi-tawi, Zamboanga, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon.

The BPT who gave the licensure exam is composed of Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, Chairman; Dr. Paz I. Lucido, Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy, Members.

Coverage of Exam and Passing Rate

The March 20, 2016 licensure examination for teachers is consists of two (2) parts for Elementary: General Education (40%) and Professional Education (60%) and three (3) parts for Secondary: General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%) and Specialization (40%).

The test covered the major areas of GE (English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences subjects), PE (teaching profession, social dimensions of education, principles of teaching, education technology, curriculum development, facilitating learning, child and adolescent development, assessment of student learning, developmental reading, field study and practice teaching). The 10 specializations for Secondary Teacher with exam coverage depends on the chosen course: English, Filipino, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Social Studies or Social Sciences, Values Education, MAPEH, Agriculture and Fishery Arts and TLE (Technology and Livelihood Education.

PRC and the Board of Professional Teachers said that in order to pass March 2016 LET, an examinee must obtain an average rating of not less than 75% and must have no rating lower than 50% in any of the tests.

Expected release date of March 2016 LET Results

According to PRC Resolution No. 2015-948, the target release date of March 2016 LET results is on Monday, May 16, 2016 or in 38 working days after the exam.

PRC's projection excludes 3 holidays (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and national election day) and weekends. A total of 57 calendar days or about 2 months was calculated.

In March 2015, results are out after 38 working days. A total of 12,103 elementary teachers out of 44,144 examinees (27.42%) and 17,904 secondary teachers out of 56,596 examinees (31.63%) successfully passed the LET.

In September 2015 exams, results were out online after 48 working days. PRC named 21,461 elementary teachers out of 68,442 examinees (31.36%) and 34,010 secondary teachers out of 81,463 examinees (41.75%) who have hurdled the licensure exam.

We advise examinees to monitor results starting Monday, May 2 to 20 or in 29 to 42 working days after the exam.

Based on the history of LET, the total days before the release of teachers board exam results correlate with the total number of examinees. For example, PRC was able to announce September 2015 LET in about 48 working days due to high number of test takers as compared to other schedules with less than 100,000 examinees.

LET Top Performing Schools

In March 2015 exam, 6 schools topped the Elementary level including De La Salle University (DLSU)-Manila, University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman, Saint Louis University (SLU), Central Philippine University (CPU), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) - Unisan. Meanwhile, 5 schools dominated the secondary level tests which include UPD, SLU, University of Santo Tomas (UST), Xavier University (XU) and Philippine Normal University (PNU)-Manila.

In September 2015, 11 schools made it to the list of top performing schools for Elementary level while 10 institutions were included for the secondary level. UST topped in both levels of exam.

PRC Released the March 2016 Physician Licensure Examination

JUST IN: March 16, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 483 out of 1,044 passed the Physician Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medicine in the cities of Manila, Baguio and Cebu this March 2016. 

The members of the Board of Medicine who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Miguel L. Noche Jr., Chairman; Dr. Edgardo T. Fernando, Dr. Eleanor B. Almoro, Dr. Eleanor J. Galvez, Dr. Ma. Graciela Garayblas-Gonzaga and Dr. Clarita C. Maaño, Members. 

The results were released in two (2) working days from the last day of examination.
Starting March 31, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. 

Those who will register are required to bring the following: 
  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 
  • 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag)
  • 2 sets of metered documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession.

JUST IN: March 15, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 2,046 out of 2,596 passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medical Technology in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao this March 2016.
  
The members of the Board of Medical Technology who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Marietta C. Baccay, Chairman; Ms. Marilyn R. Atienza and Ms. Marian M. Tantingco, Members.
 
The results were released in three (3) working days from the last day of examination.
 
Starting March 28, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

PRC Iloilo observes “Liberation of Panay”

Manila, March 10, 2016 – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces the observance by PRC-Iloilo of the “Liberation of Panay” on Friday, 18 March 2016. It is a non-working holiday.

The Holiday is stipulated in Proclamation No. 430 or “An Act Declaring March 18 of every year as Victory Day in the Islands of Panay and Romblon including the cities of Iloilo and Roxas”. This was issued in 1989 by the then President Corazon Aquino. This includes Guimaras since it was part of Iloilo province in 1989.
 
PRC Iloilo Regional Office will resume regular services-delivery on March 21, 2016 (Monday).
This comes with added information that, as a matter of policy in licensure examinations, “if the deadline for the filing of application falls on legal or regular holidays, and non-working holidays, the deadline shall be on the immediately succeeding working day” (PRC Resolution No. 2015-948, dated November 4, 2015). Thus, the deadline for repeaters in the Criminologists exam, and all the applicants for the Real Estate Appraisers Exam shall be on Monday, March 21, 2016.

PRC Released the Results of the March 2016 Medical Technologist (MedTech) Licensure Examination

JUST IN: March 15, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) officially released the results of March 2016 Medical Technologist (MedTech) board exam in few working days after the exam. The complete list of passers, top 10 (topnotchers), top performing schools and performance of schools are available on this page once announced online.

The first board exam for medical technologists this year was conducted on March 9 and 10 in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao.

Medtech board exam covered the following subjects: clinical chemistry, microbiology and parasitology, clinical microscopy (March 9); hematology, blood banking and serology, hispathologic techniques, cytotechnology, medical technology laws, related laws and its implementing rules and the code of ethics (March 10).

Based on PRC Resolution No. 2015-948, the target release date of Medtech board exam is on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 or in 3 working days after the exam.

In the same period last year, exam results were out online after 3 working days. PRC named 1,419 out of 1,942 who have passed the licensure exam.

In September 2015, results were available after 3 days. A total of 4,048 out of 4,840 hurdled the tests.

Top performing schools for Medical technologist board exam

In March 2015, University of San Agustin topped the board with 94.37% passing rate. Meanwhile, Saint Louis University, Cebu Doctor's University, Cagayan State University-Andrews Campus led the schools for September 2015 exams.

PRC Released the Results of the February 2016 Real Estate Broker Licensure Examination

JUST IN: March 4, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 5,499 out of 9,749 passed the Real Estate Broker Licensure Examination given by the Board of Real Estate Service in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last February 2016. The result of examination with respect to one (1) examinee was withheld pending final determination of his liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination.
The members of the Board of Real Estate Service who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Eduardo G. Ong, Chairman; Florencio C. Diño II and Rafael M. Fajardo, Members.
The results were released in five (5) working days after the said examination.
Starting March 14, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. 
Those who will register are required to bring the following: 
  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
  • 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)

PRC Released the Results of the February 2016 Geologist Licensure Examination

JUST IN: February 29, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 144 out of 267 passed the Geologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Geology in Manila this February 2016.
