PRC Released the Results of the September 2016 Mechanical Engineer (ME) and Certified Plant Mechanic (CPM) Licensure Examination

October 7, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 3,110 out of 4,470 passed the Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination and 40 out of 68 passed the Certified Plant Mechanic Licensure Examination given by the Board of Mechanical Engineering in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu and Davao last September 2016.

The Board of Mechanical Engineering is composed of Engr. Jesus M. Redelosa (inhibited), Chairman; Engr. Fernando S. Guevara and Engr. Mirardo C. Malazarte, Jr., Members.
 
The results were released in three (3) working days after the last day of examinations.
From October 11–14, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
 
The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examinations WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

The September 2016 Mechanical Engineer ME CPM licensure examinations were administered by PRC Board of Mechanical Engineering headed by its Chairman, Engr. Jesus M. Redelosa and its members, Engr. Fernando S. Guevara and Engr. Mirardo C. Malazarte on September 28-29, 2016 at PRC testing centers in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao and Lucena.

REGISTRATION DATE and REQUIREMENTS

Aside from the itemized results posted above, these important registration schedule, requirements and fees shall be secured by a successful examinee.
  • The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be announced by PRC. 
  • Registration requirements: duly accomplished Oath Form, latest/current CTC or cedula, 1 piece of colored passport ID picture with white background and nametag, 2 sets of doc stamps and 1 short envelope with name and profession written. 
For Manila board passers, PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for processing of appointment for registration effective March 30, 2016, details of which are written here.

 RELEASE DATE

According to the Commission’s Resolution No. 2015-948 series of 2015 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2016”, the target release date for the results September 2016 ME and CPM board exams will be on October 4, 2016 (Tuesday). However, results may be released earlier or later without prior notice.

On the same exam conducted by PRC on March 2016, results were out after three (3) working days.

EXAMINATION COVERAGE

The two-days Mechanical Engineering board exam covered topics from Industrial and Power Plant Engineering; Mathematics, Engineering Economics and Basic Engineering Services; and Machine Design, Materials and Shop Practice. Thus, Certified Plant Mechanic board exam covered topics from Elements of Power Plant Machinery, Shop Machinery Practice and Elements of Industrial Plant Machinery.

PREVIOUS EXAMS

During March 2016 ME board exams, 910 out of 1,645 passed the Mechanical Engineer ME licensure examination while 33 out of 53 passed the Certified Plant Mechanic CPM. Batangas State University was the only school in the top performing school list having 59 out of 61 examinees passed or 96.72% overall passing rate.

Marina Melendres Luchavez from University of Cebu ranked first in Mechanical Engineer board exam garnering 91.60% rating. She was followed by Neil Ivan Jon Buquing Domingo from the same school having 91.15% and Jossua Añonuevo Corona from Batangas State University-Batangas City Campus having 88.90%.
