PRC Released the Results of the August 2016 Medical Technologies Licensure Examination

September 1, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 4,144 out of 5,126 passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medical Technology in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Tuguegarao last August 2016.

The members of the Board of Medical Technology who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Marietta C. Baccay, Chairman; Ms. Marilyn R. Atienza and Ms. Marian M. Tantingco, Members.

The results were released in three (3) working days from the last day of examination.   
From September 7 to September 9, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.
 
Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession.
 
Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
  
Those who failed to pass the board examination for Medical Technology but had obtained a general rating of at least 70% can register as Medical Laboratory Technician.
  
The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

MANILA, Philippines – The 'August 2016 Medical Technologist (MedTech) board exam results', together with the list of passers, top 10 examinees, top performing schools and related announcements will be available at this website soon as PRC officially released the results online 3-4 working days after the last day of board examination.

The licensure examinations were administered by PRC Board of Medical Technology headed by its Chairman, Dr. Marietta C. Baccay and its members, Ms. Marilyn R. Atienza and Ms. Marian M. Tantingco on August 27-28, 2016 at PRC testing centers in Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao and Iloilo and Tuguegarao.

RELEASE DATE

According to the Commission’s Resolution No. 2015-948 series of 2015 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2016”, the target release date for the results August 2016 MedTech board exams will be on August 31, 2016 (Wednesday). However, results may be released earlier or later without prior notice.

On the same exam conducted by PRC on March 2016, results were out after three (3) working days.

REGISTRATION DATE & REQUIREMENTS

Aside from the itemized results posted above, these important registration schedule, requirements and fees shall be secured by a successful examinee.
  • The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be announced by PRC. 
  • Registration requirements: duly accomplished Oath Form, latest/current CTC or cedula, 1 piece of colored passport ID picture with white background and nametag, 2 sets of doc stamps and 1 short envelope with name and profession written. 
For Manila board passers, PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for processing of appointment for registration effective March 30, 2016, details of which are written here.
EXAMINATION COVERAGE

The August 2016 MedTech board exams covered topics from Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology and Parasitology, Clinical Microscopy, Hematology, Blood Banking and Serology and Hispathologic Techniques, Cytotechnology, Medical Technology Laws, Related Laws and its Implementing Rules and Code of Ethics.

PREVIOUS EXAMS

During March 2016 MedTech board exam, 2, 046 out of 2, 596 examinees passed. Three schools (Adventist University of the Philippines, Cagayan State University - Andrews Campus and University of Baguio) shared the top spot being the top performing school and having all of its examinees passed.

Meanwhile, Jhamaica Emmyrose Aboy from Centro Escolar University Manila topped the board exam having 90.60% rating. She was followed by Marc Jay Lakay from Lorma College garnering 90.20% and John Jeron Datoy from Adventist University of the Philippines having 90.00%.
