July 29, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 884 out of 2,545 passed the Master Plumber Licensure Examination given by the Board for Master Plumbers in Manila, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi this July 2016.

The members of the Board for Master Plumbers who gave the licensure examination are Engr. Valentino M. Mangila, Chairman; Engr. Pedrito D. Camilet, Jr. and Arch. Prospero A. Abellano, Members.

The results were released in three (3) working days after the last day of examination.
From August 4 to August 5, 2016, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag) and 2 sets of documentary stamps.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) releases of results of the July 2016 Master Plumber board exam conducted July 25-26, 2016 by the Board of Master Plumbers will be available at this website soon as PRC officially released the results online.

The licensure examinations were administered by PRC Board of Master Plumbers headed by its chairman, Engr. Valentino M. Mangila, and its members Engr. Pedrito D. Camilet, Jr. and Arch. Prospero A. Abellano at PRC testing centers in Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi.

Top Performing and Performance of Schools

According to the Commission’s Resolution No. 2015-948 series of 2015 entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2016”, the target release date for the results July 2016 Master Plumber will be on July 29, 2016 (Friday). However, results may be released earlier or later without prior notice.

On the same exam conducted by PRC on February 2016 and July 2015, results were out after two (2) working days.

REGISTRATION DATE & REQUIREMENTS

Aside from the itemized results posted above, these important registration schedule, requirements and fees shall be secured by a successful examinee.

Schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be announced by PRC.
Registration requirements: duly accomplished Oath Form, latest/current CTC or cedula, 1 piece of colored passport ID picture with white background and nametag, 2 sets of doc stamps and 1 short envelope with name and profession written.

For Manila board passers, PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for processing of appointment for registration effective March 30, 2016, details of which is written here.
EXAMINATION COVERAGE

The five days board exam for Optometrist (written) covered topics from Plumbing Arithmetic (10%); Sanitation, Plumbing Design and Installation (40%), Plumbing Code (10%) and Practical Problems (40%).

PREVIOUS EXAMS

During February 2016 Master Plumber licensure exam, 369 examinees out of 802 passed. UP Los Baños ranked first in the top performing schools having all of its examinees passed. Jay Rommel Cruz from Manuel University of Pangasinan topped the list of passers having 82.80% rating. He was followed by Chris Pastelero Ramires from Bataan Peninsula State University and Orestes Tapang Año from University of San Jose Recoletos garnering 82.40% and 81.90% rating respectively.

PRC and TPQI build stronger ties

Manila, July 18, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission and the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (TPQI) held a two – day meeting last June 27 – 28, 2016 at the Conference Room, 2nd Floor, Main Building, PRC Manila. The objective of the activity is to compare and benchmark TPQI’s qualification on logistics and real estate services with the Philippine’s Customs Broker and Real Estate professional qualifications. This is a step closer to the alignment of qualifications under the ASEAN Qualifications Reference Frameworks (AQRF) as part of the ASEAN Integration. Another key purpose of the visit was to probe the possibility of forging an instrument of collaboration for mutual recognition of professional qualifications of our Real Estate Services and Customs Brokers professionals with their Thai counterparts.

The TPQI has high recognitions to PRC in terms of our Professional Qualification and System of Accreditation, proving that PRC is duly recognized by its other neighboring ASEAN Countries. Once the instrument of collaboration for mutual recognition of Real Estate and Customs Broker has already been created, it will pave the way for its replication by other professions.

Manila, July 18, 2016 – Hon. Julita V. Toledo, Mr. Wilmer D. Valera, and Ms. Danahlyn D. Evangelista were recently appointed to the CPD Council for the Board of Respiratory Therapy. They formally took their oath before the Professional Regulation Commission last Thursday, July 7, 2016 held at the Conference Room, 2nd Floor, PRC Main Building.The oath of the new members of the CPD Council was administered by PRC Chairman Teofilo S. Pilando Jr. and witnessed by Commissioner Yolanda D. Reyes.

40 Year Old Nutrition and Dietetics Law Revised

Manila, July 18, 2016 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), represented by its Chairman Teofilo S. Pilando Jr., is proud to announce that the new law on Nutrition – Dietetics profession, Republic Act No. 10862, was approved last May 25, 2016. The law upgraded the standards of regulation in the education, registration and new practice of Nutritionist – Dieticians in the country.

Some of the most significant changes introduced by the new law include:

1. Integration of the Nutrition – Dietetics profession through the creation of a single national organization of Nutritionist – Dieticians in the Philippines

2. Strengthening of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirement to promote effectivity and efficiency in the practice;

3. Development of a comprehensive Nutrition and Dietetics Program.

4. Stricter regulation and registration of the foreign Nutritionist – Dieticians by means of Special Temporary Permits (STP) and Reciprocity

Additional Requirement for the Renewal of the Professional ID of Registered and Licensed Psychologists and Psychometricians

Manila, July 18, 2016 – Pursuant to Section 7 of the Republic Act No. 10029, otherwise known as the Philippine Psychology Act of 2009, the Professional Regulation Commission and the Board Professional Regulatory Board of Psychology prescribe the submission of Certificate of Membership in Good Standing (COGS) issued by the Accredited Integrated Professional Organization (AIPO) for the Psychology Profession as an additional requirement for the renewal of Professional Identification Card (PIC) for all registered and licensed Psychologist and Psychometricians effective July 13, 2016.

This requirement was implemented to effectuate the integration provision of the law. The COGS are also being required in various regulated professions.
